Scenes From The Weekend — Lovely Cousin Erin's Wedding Edition
I had planned to write a post about how magical and meaningful and special it was celebrating lovely cousin Erin and (now) husband Ben's wedding over the weekend... I was going to talk about the beauty of family and ritual and ceremony. But every time I tried to write it, I kept getting distracted by a fact that trumped all previously laid blogging plans.
My cousin Erin is a badass.
That, friends, is truth. The woman (along with now husband Ben, of course) managed to orchestrate a wedding that was 100%, fully, and completely the essence of who they are as a couple. The food, the decor, the music, the small details — all witty and interesting and fun, all totally memorable, all unequivocally Ben & Erin. And don't even get me started on the genius of her beehive (!), it was just, well...beyond.
From the rehearsal dinner at our house on Friday evening to her walk down the aisle to a violin rendition of Brown Eyed Girl to cramming into a photo booth more times than should be legal (more on that later) to sweaty hula hooping to Motown on vinyl, it was just a weekend filled with perfect moments.
