I was late to the party withGunter Sachs,and boy oh boy what a party it was!The guy was a machine,the last of the true International Playboys.His eye for beauty extended to all aspects of his life,from his job (photographer), to his his wives (including Brigitte Bardot),to his art collection which sold last May for almost 60 million dollars.I've pulled most of these photos from the Sotheby's catalogs of the 2 day sale.I highly recommend picking them up if you ever see them.Amazing man, amazing life....Gunter SachsBridget Bardot and Gunter SachsGunter loved watches and cameras....He was both a celebrated fashion photographer (who published the first nude photo to be shown in French Vogue in 1973) and well-knowndocumentary filmmaker.He courted Bridget Bardotby flying over her French Rivera villa in his helicopter and dropping hundreds of roses on her terrace....They were married for 3 years.Dali, Bridget Bardot and Gunter Sachs in costume.Gunter with hot wife #2,Mirja Larsson.Some of Gunter's fashion photographs.The Yves Klein connection was not lost on Gunter,he owned several major pieces by Yves.Gunter and Mirja Larssonand some of those silly Lalanne sheep....Some bad (quality) shots of some of Gunter'smany interiors.That will be a separate post soon....These Allen Jones pieces went NUTZOat the sale. They were estimated to go for 30-40,000 pounds each,but ended up selling for 2,587,750.00 pounds for the set of 3.That is $3,856,524.00.WoW!Marksman....Racer and Lover....Arts Patron...That's Gunter with Cesar making an"Expansion" piece.Munich1969This is Gunter's boat"Dracula lll",I mean come on....He also pulls off the unbuttoned to the waistdress shirt look like no other,and that is a very dangerous move...He and Andy were buddies, not surprisingly.I bet Andy had the biggest boner for himAND all his women.
